You are obliged to pay whatever your lease specifies.
Im a live in caregiver and they deduct rent from my check. Should they have to have a rental agreement? And is this legal?
Is your landlord the same as your employer?
If so, then you MIGHT have a case if it's in writing.
What do you have in writing as to the terms and conditions of your occupancy?
Where do you live the rest of the month if you are not on duty?
OP has another thread about being a live in with apparently no rental agreement.
You should not have to pay 1/2 of anything if you only LIVE there 12 days a month, but without any contract or lease you are going to have to fight this, and perhaps quit if you can't resolve it by talking to your employer. Is it an agency or a private party?
I've merged your threads. No they don't need a lease if your room is part of your employment contract.
However, if your employment conditions change, then so do other conditions.
This agreement was srt up by the employer!
My mom has a guest houes!
It's a simple agreement that each room mate pays half.
This was my thought! I was thinking, What if they take away more hours? What if I were there 8 days out of the month. All I'm doing is paing for the roommate to kick it on my dime.
