Leak into kitchen from shower three handle
    Hi All,

I'm not handy, but want to be able solve some homeowner problems.

I have a 1954 house, could be original plumbing. We have a three handle shower/tub combo, and when the shower is on, more times than not, it drips into the kitchen, directly below the plumping, which is on the outside wall. I do not have an access panel. There is some dripping from the faucet when the diverter handle is turned to shower position. The bath wall is tiled and I'm guessing small cuts are made into the tile for the plumbing. I leaning towards the diverter as the first guess. Model is unknown and the handles have four chrome "fingers".

Can someone help with leak repair suggestions? Where I can find how to, a diagram? And some type of guess on how long it would take a professional (so I can mark that up by 3 for me).

Any thoughts on a possible homeowners insurance covering cost or hiring a plumber to evaluation possible damage?

    Thanks,

It sounds like the tile grout gas shrunk over the years allowing water to run down behind the tub. Watch where the shower stream hits the wall and regrout the tiles. Good luck, Tom
