Hello, I have a Kenmore 91552210 that stopped before the spin cycle and filled with water. The lid is not broken and is closed completely. I hear no timer ticking. I believe the washer is approx, 12-15 yrs old. Please assist in my situation. Thank you , Cheryl

Check the lid switch and the striker on the lid that hits the lid switch. Often we find that the switch looks good but isn't and sometimes this is easy to find out. Unplug the washer and put your fingers down under where the switch is located. Sometimes you can feel that it's busted apart. Failing that, you must lift the control housing and check the switch. Easy to do with a volt/ohmeter or you can jump the two wires together (NOT THE GREEN ONE) and if the washer works then... replace the lid switch.
