I have a '01 Honda Civix Lx 4 door. I was dribing.my car one night, then all of a sudden my battery light came on and my tachometer went out. Then my car wouldn't shift into the next gear. So I shut it off and then restarted it. When I tried to put it in drive it jerks real hard then ill drive.like 200 ft and it will stall. Sounds like the engine isn't getting any fuel even if I floor it. Idk if it is a transmission issue or altinator. Im broke and I need to figure out what's wrong with my car so I can go back to work.

Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil:

The ICM drives the tachometer. When it goes, which is common on Hondas, the tachometer fluctuates wildly or stops altogether. The alternator light is only coming on because the engine is having a hard time even running.
