    Outdoor thermostat on compressor/condenser unit.
I have a Goodman MDL# GSH 130301AC condenser unit; with a (gas) Backup Heat Control. When I call for heat the Heat pump will not come on, however the back up heat fires off if the inside thermostat has a 5 degree diff or if I go to Emerg heat. A friend thinks it's the outside thermostat sensor; I do not see one on the condenser unit. Also the circuit board on my furnace has no wires attached to the Outside sensor contacts? Is it possible the unit does not have an outside sensor? I have a White-rodgers thermostat. Any suggestions
