OK I met this girl in my Anatomy and Physiology class. She has a boyfriend of 3 years and says she plans on marrying him.But he is in the marines and won't be back until February. She also talks about him being super jealous and kind of complains about him to me. But the way she acts around me I don't know how to take it, She calls me all the time texts me we probably talk about 7-8 hours a week. We go and study together we share all our feelings about everything. She wanted to know everything about me. She told me she thinks I am cute and very smart, she has told me I am amazing before. We were at this party a couple days ago and just chillen and hanging out and on our way to my car she grabs my arm and holds it and rests her head on my arm. It continued in the car with her holding my arm and laying her head on my shoulder while my hand is on her knee. She will go from I am going to marry him to holding my arm and saying maybe she should ditch him.. I don't know what the hell to think. I like her so much. Talking to her and being with her makes me so happy and I know I make her laugh and she likes being around me.. what should I do ? Am I going to get hurt?

Well I can see where you are coming from...

Many mixed signals on her part, which is not fair to you and to her boyfriend.

It's pretty sad that her boyfriend is serving our Country and this is the kind of treatment he gets from her (not knowing of course).

I think it's time that you set the record straight, because as far as I'm concerned, she is using you for the emotional part of it. Confiding in you, laughing with you, holding you, etc... Pretty much everything that is in a relationship, except for sex, which by the way sounds as if it's pretty close for that.

If I were you, I would distance yourself from her. Make her understand that she is taken and that you don't want to get in the middle of it.

Can you get hurt? Falling for a cheater, is a losers game, so is messing with another fellas girl. She will distract you from other options and opportunities that are far better, and healthier for you. So go ahead, and keep getting deeper, and deeper. Then you will be so in love you will believe anything she says, and do whatever to keep her, IF she wants it.

And some guy wants to marry her? What wrong with this picture?

I would give you green, but I have to spread the rep. These are very good questions for him to think about.

I would like to point out that she's obviously using you as her shoulder to cry on. She literally put her head on your shoulders while complaining about her relationship.

If she had feelings for you, then she would put her best foot forward to you and not show you all her troubles. But, regardless of whether she likes you or not, she still has a boyfriend.

This is exactly what I was going to say. This is likely a situation where you're just convenient.

It'd be safe to distance yourself from her before your emotions consume you. For staters, she's taken, but beyond that she's got some baggage she needs to sort out, and you don't want to be sorting out her problems for her, do you?

Uhhh these are all good answers. I think about most of them a lot. Maybe I will confront her and ask her some of these questions myself.. I mean I just got out of a 5 year relationship(2 year engagement) and she helped me out through everything and was there for me when no one else was and knew exactly what to say.

The bottom line is that she is taken, and until she breaks it off with her boyfriend, I wouldn't set yourself up for disaster.
