My dc04 Dyson hoover will not pick up through the floor plate, it only works by using the hose. The belt is still in tact so it has nothing to do with that. At the same time the click mechanism which ensures the hoover stays upright when using the hose or when you have finished using the hoover, has failed (it does not click in to place at all). I have to lean the hoover against the wall or furniture to avoid it from toppling over. Is it repairable?

It probably isn't picking up because it is clogged up. Remove the plate and clean it out.
