I've be told to use 20 Mule Team Borax on my carpets and bed to remove & kill the remaining fleas in my home. But I've been told different ways to do it. Some say to sprinkle it on the carpet & rake it in and then vacuum it up immediately while others have said to let it sit for a couple of days or leave it for 2 weeks and then vacuum it up. What is the right way to do it?

Also, is it safe for the cat to be around? I can move him somewhere else if not.
