    Oil leak
I have an oil leak somewhere in my 93 civic ex and I was wondering what I could do about it. A mechanic friend said it looks like its coming from the "oil sending unit"? I think. And that some kind of gasket or seal in that needs to be replaced. Please help.

Should be very easy to fix. Just replace the oil pressure switch with a new one, which is located right above the oil filter. Apply liquid gasket, Honda Part No. 08718-0001, to the threads when installing and torque to 13 lb-ft.

darthsim16, I'm virtually 100% certain, if your mechanic friend is any good. Just remember, leaks that sometimes appear down low start from above. If you ensure your valve covers are not leaking, the oil pressure switch is likely the source of the leak. It's a common problem.

If you really want to make sure this is the source of the leak, clean the area around the oil pressure switch with engine cleaner and observe.
