    I am attempting to replace a White-Rogers thermostat with a Hunter 44360.
The White Rogers has 8 wires and the Hunter 44360 has only 6 places for wires. Should all 8 wires be attached to the Hunter or which ones do I not connect?

I can't find a model #, but 153-7758 is inside the drop down door. Where would I find the model number?

The only other numbers that I can find are on the inside of the cover of the White Rogers,
    Type no. 1F82-51
    17 to 30 volts max
    50/60 HZ. 1.5 AMPS MAX
    Class 2
156-2305 is stamped along the edge

Here is your old thermostats wiring diagram. Transpose the wiring from the old to the new using the diagram.

Thank you. My problem is still the two extra wires that are on the White Rogers. There are 8 wires for the existing White Rogers and only 6 places on the new Hunter 44360. Where should the other two wires be attached on the Hunter 44360?

That is why I posted the old stats manual. I believe you might have the wrong kind of thermostat. Your old stat is a two stage heat unit. Is your new stat for 2 stage heat pump use?

The brand name tell me that you have the wrong tstat,, get yourself a good honeywell or a white rogers, for a 2H/1C system

Thank you for your help. It appears that I'll need to get a different type thermostat to replace this White Rogers that has no battery backup. Thank you, again.
