I have an area in the front yard that is brown and won't grow grass... 1/2 the day in the sun, other half of day in the shade... All grass around it looks fine. I live in Washington state. What should I do?. Thanks

Remove 5" of soil. Add top soil, starter fertilizer and appropriate seed or rent sod cutter and lay sod.
