1999 honda accord ex 4 cyl 210,00 miles engine stalls while running around 40 mph
I have a 1999 honda accord ex 4 cyl with 210,00 miles on it. Engine model is F23A4. In the past one year, I have installed new distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs and recently timing belt and water pump. In the last 2 months, I noticed four times that my car engine stalled while running around 40 mphs. But it starts immediately without any problem. This problem happens so infrequently and there is no check engine light. I showed it to a local mechanic and he thinks it could be a ignition switch problem. 1999 Honda Accord has this problem and my car is fixed by the dealer as part of a recall. I would like to know, whether ignition switch is the real problem. I was checking for this problem on the internet and there are lots of forums mentioning different things from MAP sensor to distribution coil to ignition switch to fuel pump, etc. I am really confused. Please guide me on how to troubleshoot this problem. Appreciate your help.
