What needs to be done if the father wants to sign over his rights
My sons father wants to sign over his rights and I am not sure if I have to take him to court or if I can just get some papers for him to fill out. And if so were do I get them?

You tell him that he is out of luck and to get ready to keep paying child support.

You file for custody and file for support

Only if the custody parent is remarried and the new partner wants to adopt do they normally allow for the other parent to give up their rights.

Normally the dead beat parent tries to give up rights to get out of paying support, it does not work that way
