If I give up my parental rights even though the child is 9 years old
I got preganant at the age of 21, I didn't want to have this child, I had a family in California that wanted to adopt the baby, but the father of the baby did not want to give it up for adoption he said he would take care of the baby. He's had the baby since he was 3 months, 8 years later he's sued me for child support. I've never been in the child's life, but I want to give up my parental rights because I don't want to be responsible for this child that I never wanted. Will I still be liable to pay child support after I give up my parental rights?

There is a sticky at the top of the Family Law forum regarding termination of parental rights. You can read it here:

Regardless of whether you "want to be responsible" or not, you had a child. The child needs the support of both parents. Unless someone else is willing to adopt the child, the odds of terminating your rights are slim to none. And even if you DO terminate your rights, that doesn't necessarily mean you aren't still financially liable to support your child.
