    88 honda accord clutch
My accord has a fairly new clutch, less than one year, but when starting, I can't get the clutch to fully engage, either to get out, or into gear. When in gear with the clutch in, the car will still lurch as if the clutch has been dropped. When in neutral, the clutch won't engage to get into gear!

Check the clutch master cylinder reservoir. Ensure it's filled to the "MAX" line with brake fluid. If that does not solve the problem, assess whether the slave unit or the clutch master cylinder is bad. Check for visible signs of leaking. It's important to change the brake fluid in these units every couple of years, to replace the lubricity of the fluid and to purge soft rubber debris and crud from the clutch hydraulic system. I use a Brake Bleeder Economy One-Man, Cal-Van part no. 247, which contains a one-way check valve to prevent air from getting into the system, to safely change the fluid. This $2.99 bleeder only takes several minutes to bleed the system. I also use this tool to bleed my brakes every 2 years.
