1992 Honda civic won't start randomly, what could it be?
1992 honda civic lx ran well for years, no real issues not many miles.
*I changed the engine to vtech 5 years ago.
*The car ran fine until I let it sit for almost a year while out of town. It wouldn't start because the battery was dead.
*I came back and did a tune up (battery change, rotor, ngk spark plugs, oil change, filters, pcv valve). On the first start after the tune up the car took awhile to get the gas up but it eventually did and it ran fine for a week.
*The start problem occurred again so I sent it to a shop, they said it's the distributor. The car seemed fine when I picked it up but that was short lived, since the very next day it was doing the same thing. I would pump the gas before cranking and for some reason it would crank right up for two days(not sure if it was coincidence or not).
*I sent the car to another shop because in addition to this my engine check light comes on when coming off the highway when I slow doen on brakes. They tested it and my speed spensor was the cause of the engine check light they claim. Also, the car wouldn't do the "no start" trick for them the three days I left it, which was odd as it did it very often with me. They had me to come get the car and it seemed fine until 2 days later, my radiator began leaking fluid while parked but the car didn't overheat. I replaced the radiator. The car still doesn't start right up for two days. On day 3, the car randomly starts up. I test it a few times, it loses power/gas and shuts off here and there by the turn of the key but if I give it gas it will stay on just fine.
*I replaced the fuel pump. The car is doing the same thing of not starting.
*I replaced the Main Relay Switch, the car seemed to be normal for a whole week straight. Cranking every time and such until I let it sit without driving it for a week. Now it doesn't want to start AGAIN!
What could this be?
