Hi, crystal427!

Thanks!
This is a question of ratio, so I'll go with it the easy way, without including variables.
The ratio of tickets sold by Tom:Jeremy = 8:1
The total 'parts' is 8+1 = 9.
So, Tom sold 8/9 of the total tickets, and Jeremy sold 1/9 of the total tickets.
Can you solve it now?
