P trap for tub on slab does not line up
My p trap sub out is located 13" from the center of a new tub I am installing and there is room in the cut out area in the slab to run a offset to it. Would this be okay?

    Hi Stevndal:

Best case will be for you to offset the drain pipe using 45s (or 22.5 degree fittings) and then install the PTRAP directly under the tub waste assembly.

If you try to offset the piping after the trap it could create an STRAP setup and this is not only against code, but also has a tendency to catch more gunk which can act as a wick to siphon water from the STRAP creating a condition that allows sewer gasses to come into your home.

    Hope that all made sense...
