    Electrical Wiring
Hello, I am wiring my basement. I am by no means a professional but I generally figure things out and like to adhere to code and inspections. I am running a line of recepticals around a corner. My questing is,

Do I have to drill holes in the 2X4's in the corner or can I bring the cable up the stud on one side of the corner and go through the rafters then back down the other side of the corner?

Either way is fine. An electrician would probably try to drill through the corner studs, they usually have very long drill bits, and can drill two holes into the opposing studs, and have the two holes meet. But going up, over and down is fine.

Keep any homes drill, and cables stapled, at least 1-1/4" away from the front face of a stud or joist, to keep the cable clear of sheetrock screws and nails.
