How do I drill a hole in a vitreous china toilet tank?
I need to replace an old (circa 1914) toilet tank that has cracked. I can get a new tank that looks very similar and is the same size, but has no mounting holes in the back to mount to the wall. It is connected to the bowl with a 2" closet bend.
If I could drill 2 holes in the back of the tank it would work.

Use carbide tip drill bit. Do not push hard. Take your time.

U may have to use spacers over screws so lid seats correctly.

    Good luck

Why not save yourself the hassle of drilling holes in china plus the risk of damaging the tank an simply purchase a hall hung tank? (see image) Regards, Tom
