    I have a mini water heater in my 2/2 condo. I have a Rheem / model 818U30D B from 1999.

I don’t have any problems with hot water. I’m curious how long a water heater will last before I need a new one.
    Thanks.
    Scotty

Correction I just say it was a 1998 August.

    Hi Scotty

If the water heater is working OK, tjere is no reason to change it.

If it starts to leak or give u other problems it is fine.

I changed mine after 22 years.

With proper care and if you flush the heater on a regular maintenance schedule it will last indefinably.
I have a counter top water heater that was built into the cabinet when the house was built and it's working just fine. My place was built in 1954 which makes my heater 56 years old. Cheers, Tom

Tom forgot to mention that they don't make them like they used to. Really old heaters seem to last a really long time. Newer heaters are much like car batteries, read the warranty and they will go bad one month out of warranty. Like Tom says, flush it regularly and make sure all fittings never leak. You may not be on borrowed time but you are at in your final half of ownership.
