    Septic tank in basements
    Hi massplumbers,
    I'm constructing a septic tank that doudles as a pit latrine, am now not certain of the depth at which to put the inlet and outlet pipes and also a chamber for routine emptying and security checks, pliz advise. Thanks.

    I'm not Mass plumber but my code book,( Standard Plumbing Code) doesn't prohibit such a installation. We install ejector pits in the basement don't we?
    Code calls for two manholes to be brought up to grade if the tank's installed under cement or black top. Here's a link that might help; http://www.eco-nomic.com/septic.htm
