Is this panel overloaded?
I recently purchased a seasonal home 600sqft (lower NY state). The only source of power is electric. I did major renovations and expanded the curcuits in the panel. I need to understand what I have and if I need to upgrade service to the house or replace the panel.
1- The main panel has what looks like 2 100amp lines entering it (240v). Is this considered 200 amp service?
2- I expanded the panel to include a bunch of new circuits. I had to buy a few (3) double breakers 120v (2 switches in the same space that one had taken). Is this a problem? Should I be concerned about this? How can I tell if my panel has too many circuits in it?
I’ve added a bunch of fixtures-
7 recessed lights
2 ceiling light fixtures
1 bathroom fan + light
Floor heat in the bathroom
Dishwasher
Micro hood combo
2 - 8' strip lights in the garage
Alarm system
I’ve detailed below what the panel configuration is now-
I had the following in the box before I touched it-
240v - 30amp water heater
240v - 50amp stove & cook top
240v - 20amp well pump
240v - 20 amp heater #1
240v - 20 amp heater #2
240v - 20 amp heater #3
120v - 15 amp kitchen
120v - 15 amp bathroom
120v - 15 amp lighting & wall outlets
120v - 15 amp lighting & wall outlets
I added-
3 more circuits for the kitchen
15amp dishwasher
20amp micro hood
15amp lighting (reused 120v - 15 amp kitchen)
20 amp circuit for countertop outlets
Reused 240/50amp stove circuit
2 circuits in the bathroom
Reused 120v - 15 amp bathroom for lighting
Added 1 20amp 120v circuit for heat
Added
15amp lighting circuit for the bedrooms
Added-
50amp 240v breaker feed for garage sub panel (6/3 direct burial ~65ft total length)
The garage panel has one 15amp lighting circuit and 1 20amp circuit for a wall outlet. (I separated the neutral and ground on separate bars in the subpanel)
