    Moving Main Bathroom (drainage related)
I'm currently in the process of moving our main bathroom from one area of the house to another. Massplumber & Speedball were great to help with a project that I was going to do 2 years ago so I was wondering if I could get a little help on this one! :D

As with other projects, I will rotate the Drain Tees off center to the vent, etc and make sure there is a 1/4" drop for every foot.

I'll be running this 3" line from all of this approx 30' to the current waste stack (I'd like to avoid breaking concrete to hook it up).

How does everything look? Would this vent properly for the shower, toilet and sink?

I appreciate any and all help! Thanks! :)

    Hi Jon...

Can you tell us if WET VENTING is allowed in your area? If it is we may be able to save you some time in terms of the vents.

If wet venting isn't allowed then you can make the changes I noted below and you will be all set in terms of code... ;)

    Let me know... OK?

Thanks Mark! I appreciate all the help.

I'm sure code allows wet venting in my area.

I also assume the long sweep elbows are for better drainage flow (if they're possible to put in - and they should be).

As for the 2" vent that will hook up to the stack: I did want to ask this question and should have in the first place. There is currently a 1.5" vent running to the stack from in this wall (this room is an old washer/drying room). I figured I would have to replace the 1.5" with 2" to be able to vent the toilet but is it possible to do this with the existing 1.5" vent?

If replacing the existing vent with 2" is proper and will make sure there are no problems then I will gladly crawl in the attic to make the change.

    Thanks again for the help!

Code calls for 2" just for the toilet....so a plumber would definitely have to get up in the attic and change it out. With you adding a sink and a shower to this I would definitely increase to 2" all the way... :)

If wet venting is allowed I can draw up another plan for you if you want, but it will take a couple days... up to you.. OK?

Mark, that would be great! As long as you don't mind! It would save some time and vent pipe so I'm all for it!

    Thanks!

    Thanks Mark. Without over-stating it... You're a God. ;-)

As for everything you've drawn, I think it will work (though I am trying to work within the 2x10s to so I don't have to bulkhead it down the road - so we'll see how it goes - there is a chance I may have to use the non-wet vent option that you first replied with to make it all fit).

I've also attached a view of the bathroom showing spacing of lav, toilet and shower. With this spacing in mind, will the vent be enough? I completely forgot to mention how far apart they would be.

Thanks again for all the help, this project should go off without any hitches given what you've shown me!

That tub can be up to 6-8 feet from the sink vent so you look all set from here!

Great! Thanks again! I'll post here how it goes when I finish it!
