Have 1 yr. old sears snowblower.oil good,gas full.rope is stuck,won't recoil,have it hanging on handle.tried elec.start.sounds like it wants to start but won't.is it because rope pull won't coil back into place or something else.under warranty but I have to bring it to sears.no truck.please help.thank you

You have two separate problems and the wise thing to do is find a friend with a truck, or pay for pick-up/delivery, if available. Warranties have a number of reasons for existing, not the least of which is your protection, but also to track and correct/improve products.

I have to agree with Clarke on the warranty if you have one. If not, sounds like your starter rope assembly needs to be rewound, and possibly, the little things that activate to grab hold of your flywheel called dog-pawls may be stuck open preventing a start.
