In order to camouflage hoses and drain pipe running from washer, I want to run all 3 through a pvc pipe and worried raising the level of drain pipe up on the washer might cause a problem
Stand pipe on washer should be 2" in diameter and no less than 30" tall. That's at least in my area. Otherwise water may overflow due to high output of today's washers.
But I have to confess, I have seen this stand pipe lot shorter in old houses and it worked just fine.
If you lower it, I would suggest that you connect washer hose and Stand Pipe with tight coupling sealing the point of connection. That should take care of accidental overflow...
And you accomplish this with a compression fitting, (see imige) or duct taping the hose to the stand pipe. Good luck, TomQuote:
