I think that you should talk to your doctor first, then get a good attorney. You may have trouble with this knee for the rest of your life. Ask for whatever you feel is right, and then some.

I personally would go in with a high powered lawyer and make them pay through the nose. Every time you limp on that leg, you will wish you had asked for more.
