I was wondering what the color code was for the r1 resistor... my was a little burnt and I can't tell what the proper color code is.

This might be a tough one. In the field, circuit boards are replaced, not repaired. You may try to find a pic of the board online, but even that may be of little use. Different revisions of the same component may incorporate different resistors.
