How do I give up parental rights?
My son is in another state, and living with his grandma on his moms side. I am not financially set for even myself right now and his mother is def. not. The grandma is OK with me doing so BUT I have no clue as where to start the process... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you stating that the grandmother is willing to adopt after BOTH you and the mother sign over parental rights?

If not, then nope--you can't. Signing away parental rights is usually done ONLY to clear the way for an adoption.

The only other reason a court will generally terminate parental rights is if a parent is proven to be a danger to the child.

Yeah it is so the grandma can adopt him. Does the mom have to be present when I do my side of it.. and do I have to go to the state he live in?

I don't what you mean by your side of it. The Grandmother files to adopt the child where the child lives. Both you and the mother to sign consents, formal documents. You sign separate documents at separate times if you want to do so.

The Court will review the documents and situation and determine whether the adoption request is granted.

So where do I go to get paperwork? An attorney or the courthouse

Best that this type of thing goes through a lawyer. They know best how to work the system.
