I am unable to pay my charge cards, I haven't paid on then since November of 2008, I just received a civil summons I'm suppose to answer it, they sold it to someone else,what can they do? And what can I do? How am I suppose to answer it? can they take anything? Thanks Donn of northcarolina

Whether your debt is still held by the original credit card company or a new debt collector you can be served and must answer. The statute of limitations hasn't run out so they have a legal claim againist you and will likely preval. You can try to negotiate with them or if you loose in court you can ask the judge for a payment plan.
