We have a 30/50 pressure switch we replaced along with the gauge it seems to be working OK but then it stops it will click on after reaching 30 and click off at 50 and then all of a sudden it drops to about 12-15 we had a plumber come out and he said to turn off pump and let water build for few hours it does work but I can't keep turning pump on and off all the time ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Call back the plumber and let them know that their advice worked. Im guessing that he had a theory, and the theory was,, you well is running dry.. so when you shut pump off, you are letting well refill. If this is indeed the case, there is no easy fix for it, you will have to either lower the pump( or inlet of jet pump), but this can only be done if you have to depth to do it. I say have your plumber back out to gauge the well, or call in a well specialist to find the problem... Please do let us know what they find. Meanwhile, I will think this over and see what I'm missing,, oh, have you checked the pressure switch feed pipe? Lee.

My plumber doesn't seem to think the well is going dry he seemed kind of baffled he checked the pump itself which he replaced about 6 years ago and he says it seems fine we did clean out the pressure feed pipe

That's a contradiction! He's already checked for a lowered water table and came up positive.
And now he's denying his own findings? Did he give a reason he didn't think the water table was being drawn down? Inquiring minds want to know. Regards, Tom

Is your pump in the well or above ground?

I'm not clear as to why the well running low on water would cause your pressure to drop to 15# "all of a sudden". Usually that would cause the pressure to drop slowly as water is used, then when the pump cuts back on, it cannot pump back up to 50# since it does not have the water to pump.

Wouldn't the pump lower the level and when it couldn't pump any more just stop?
I just can't see the pressure going down slowly. When you run out of water you run out of water fast. One minute you got suction and the next you're sucking air. Just my take on it. Regards, Tom
