    You shouldn't need to.
    If you sift it they will be fluffier than if you didn't so it depends on how fluffy or how heavy you like pancakes.

    WOW, really? I didn't know that, not that I make pancakes a lot, but I usually just sift to get out impurities. (sp? Again)
