Does it hum because it doesn't know the words? :eek:

Seriously, does the noise you hear seem to come from the transmission?
Have you checked/changed the transmission fluid regularly?

Do you mean that it shifts normally once engaged?

Warm the engine and transmission thoroughly and check the transmission fluid level. Adjust to the proper level and repeat the roadtest, if necc.
