    Mud in basement floor drain
I have just discovered that my basement floor drain is filled with mud.
It is not overflowing but is pretty high
    What can I do.
I am a senior and not handy.

    Hi Kalicramer...

Have you run any water down the drain to see if it is draining? All floor drains have standing water in them... is that what you see, or is it filled with mud and really clogged? Or is it that the drain is backing up and almost overflowing the drain?

Run some water down the drain... let me know what happens.

The question is, where did the mud come from? A broken pipe? Dirt off the basement floor? Answer Marks questions and get back to us. Good luck, Tom
