    Electrical - Ceiling Fan
Should there be any difference from a factory installed remote control vs a bought remote control?

Reason asking is because the ceiling fan I bought was a store display - no remote control sold with it so after I had the light up I had to go back & buy a remote control which cost $30.

So I removed the factory installed remote control device in the ceiling fan where there are 6 lines coming out of the unit.

The only thing that is working is the light with the new remote control...

Took the light fixture back to Home Depot & they said the blue/blue (light), white/white and black goes with the other colors.

I have tried all of these combinations and wondering if the motor actually works in the ceiling fan...

Any suggestions before I remove this from ceiling for the 4th time?

Thank you and appreciate any feedback you can offer!

You will need the actual factory remote. Take the $30 kit back to the store, contact the manufacturer, order the correct part(s).

    Hi, CARE Services!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this forum topic area so that it will get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.

It can be a little confusing when first learning how to use this site! Your question will get noticed much more in this forum topic area.

We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.

I do note, that your question did receive a couple of responses while it was in Introductions.

    Thanks!
