    Can't remove shower faucet cap
Hello: I have a Delta Series 1400 shower faucet. I am told the handle is a "ring type". (There are 3-4 rings at the end of the handle (there is no handle per se, just a knob that turns to the left or right to turn the faucet on and adjust the temperature).

I am havIing a problem with the temperature control and the ring behind the knob handle seems loose. I called Delta and the first step was to "unscrew" the handle. (It is about 2 1/2" in diameter). They suggested using vinegar/water solution to remove any calcium build up (which I did), but the handle cover will not budge. I can not put a wrench to it, as it would ruin the finish of the handle.

Any suggestions most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try WD-40 on the threads and use a strap wrench,(see image) on the chrome ring. I also put up a exploded view of your valve to help. Good luck, Tom
