    Failure to appear judgement
    Failure to appear judgement for unsecured credit card $7,800 and change I live in Texas can my wages be garnished I own no property and usually keep my bank account under $2,500 I have moved around a lot in the past year and missed the summons and court date the debt is legitiment and I entend to pay however I am concerned that if I don't settle this matter I will have no control of what the court takes from me

    They can take all the money in your present bank account and garnish your wages.

    Texas does not allow garnishment of wages for unsecured debt.

    You may be able to get the Judgement vacated on grounds of improper service. While that's only a delaying tactic, it may help get a settlement.

    I agree with Scott, unless they have recently changed the law, Texas does not allow personal wage garnishment
