Why is my honda civic bogging down?
My husband and I have an 89 honda civic. Friday after putting gas in it we noticed it started bogging down. So we brought it home and cleaned the spark plugs then let the gas run out thinking it might have been some bad gas. We put new gas in and it seemed to run fine for the weekend. Then this morning as he was about to take me to work the car started idling then acting like it was going to die. We pressed on the gas to get it going then the check engine light came on and the car started bogging down almost to where it did die. So we turned it off and back on. The same thing happened. It idle's and the starts to bog down badly. Why is this happening? It is maybe a vacuum hose?

Check for codes (read the LED flashes on the ECM). Tell us what code(s) you read. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil need replacing:

Replace spark plugs (NGK only) every two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first.
