How do I identify which engine I have on my Snapper rear-engine rider? It's a model 30085 that I picked up for $20, and I need to replace a couple of things, but need to know what engine I have. Thanks for the help!

There should be numbers either stamped into the engine shroud, or a plate riveted on the engine shroud.

I think that's part of the problem... it looks like an aftermarket shroud. There are no markings on it, and it looks newer than the rest of the engine. I can't find any markings anywhere else, either.

They don't sell aftermarket shrouds... Since most are stamped right onto the shroud... they can get painted over and become hard to read, or rusted over.
