    15 amp circuits
Hi, I am trying to decide whether to run another circuit.
The living room is on a circuit 15 amp with 8 or 9 outlets and six ot seven ceiling lites.
    Is this too much?
Can I continue this circuit into the dining area with another5 outlets and another four lites or do I need to run another circuit?
    Thanks

Most would say that circuit is already maxed out. Thing is what are you using on it. General use receptacles are an odd thing. You could have ten that never seen any use, yet one that gets used hard all the time.

To answer your question, NO, you cannot extend this circuit into the DR for more receptacles. DR receptacles must be on a 20A circuit and not be combined with any other rooms than kitchen related rooms, such as the kitchen, pantry, breakfast nook, etc.
Same goes for any lighting. You cannot have lighting combined with these "kitchen area" receptacles circuits.
