My best friend always told me "You can do better" Mom was always drunk but did not approve. No one liked her. Well, after 41 years of marriage we are still together through it all. In many cultures marrying someone who your family does not approve of is very hard. I think the best thing you could do is to show your family that you really love this woman and want to spend the rest of your lives together. She also needs to try and prove her worthiness by being the best person around your family as possible.
