Pilot stay's lit now but still will not fire up
Cleaned pilot orifice good and now have a good flame
Put old thermocouple back in
And has flame almost directly on it
Be cause it at least worked half
Still won't fire up

You might need a new thermocouple. Also make sure the gas valve is turned to on and not left on pilot. Note you have to have the thermocouple in the flame or it will not generate a voltage signal for the valve safety control to lock on.
