    Light roots, dark ends
My hair is naturally light blonde and I have been trying to grow it out so to keep from getting bored with it and cutting it last year I decided to dye it brown which I did like but after a few months I missed the blonde and went through hell (banana yellow hair) to get it back. I never did find a shade of blonde that matched mine perfectly, but I found one that was close enough until my hair started to grow out and the roots became noticeable. So now almost exactly a year later I bought a darker blond hair dye, but its too dark and now my hair is almost brown, a dull brown with roots much lighter than the ends. How do I fix it

I found a great answer to a similar question. It appears it is common for the ends to be darker:

    Quote:

The ends of the hair tends to be more dry and porous, and they will absorb hair color faster. So when you apply a hair color, the ends will appear darker than the rest of your hair. You can try using a 20-volume peroxide developer with your desired in equals to lighten the ends a bit. If it doesn't work, please go to a salon and have a color correction done.
