Getting CDL with a 15-year-old felony on driving record
How do I get a 15-year-old felony on driving record removed so I can get a CDL?

    Hello tam:

You get a pardon. You get one of those by hiring a good lawyer.

Depending on the circumstances you might not have to do anything. It's basically your driving record that counts as this felony was so long ago. It also depends on the motor carrier's insurance requirements. I know most trucking companies want at least 5 years out from a felony conviction. The only problem you would have being a driver would be if your company wanted to send you into Canada and then the felony would stand in your way or you were to haul hazardous materials like gasoline, propane or chemicals then the felony would deny you these loads.

If you are looking to get a CDL, the felony won't disqualify you from obtaining one.
