Credit card debit and cival court
A credit card company is taking me to cival court for 2000.00. Do I have to pay them?
Can they do anything to me?

If you spent the money than you have to pay it

If you owe the money they will get a judgement, in many areas after they get a judgement they can freeze your bank accounts, garnish your pay check.

In some areas they could even place a lien on some of your property.

You really need to explain this in greater detail. Is this a card you applied for and did y ou use this card? If so, then of course you have to pay it back. If the debt is valid, they can obtain a judgement and use that to garnish your salary or attach other assets.

You don't have to pay if you have a LEGAL defense to the claim - it's a very old debt; it's not your debt; it's already paid, among others.

Otherwise - it's not a free gift. If you used it, you have to pay it back.
