Reducing height of Kitchen vent pipe
I just had new countertops installed and want to add a soap dispenser. However the existing vent pipe (black pipe) under the sink is too tall. Is there any reason I can not reduce the size of the vent pipe to allow for a soap bottle to be placed under the sink? It looks to be about 3" in dia. If I can reduce the height, is it just a matter of sawing some off the height and recapping?

    Thank you for you time.

Show us a picture of the pipe. Is this an island sink?

    Hi Peggy,
Answer Harolds question about if you have a island sink, (a sink away from any walls in the center of the kitchen) and then tell me if your trap set up looks like this, (see image). Back to you, Tom
