I'm a single parent and has a 1 y/o daughter. My daughter's father left me when I told him that I'm pregnant. Although he is not married he is living with another girl and they have a 2 1/2 y/o daughter. Do I have any right to seek for a financial support and/or sue him for abandonment? We are both a nursing student right now but he is more financially stable than me.

Sure you can sue him. But forget about abandonment. Just sue him for child support. You're going to need a lawyer.

You are entitled to child support - you would have to go to Court, they will undoubtedly order DNA testing, the father will be ordered to pay support and will be given visitation, assuming he's not a risk to the child.
Some Family Courts - or whatever branch handles this in your area - are user friendly, others are not.
As soon as the child is born, you file for custody of the child, you name him as the father and unless he accepts paternity you prove he is the father by a DNA test.
During this you file for child support for your child. See if you can get it garnished from his pay.
Yes you can get support but because of the delay in your filing you probably won't get any back support for the year that you have already raised her. You go to court and the judge will order a DNA test once that comes back the judge will order support and visitation he will have to abide by the support order and you will have to abide by the visitation order.

Thank you for all those who posted a reply for my last question. Your opinion helped me a lot to decide whether to sue the father of my daughter or not.. I've decided to sue BAX ( my daughter's father) for not supporting my daughter.. We had the 1st preliminary investigation last January 13 and it turned out good.. the fiscal said that bax should give support because he is the father.. But bax is also a full time student like me and depending on his parents too.. Is it enough reason for bax to be able to win the case? Is a 50/50 support coming from both of us fair enough on my part considering that we are not married? My daughter is now 1 year & 4 months old and it is very hard and shameful also on my part because my mother is the one providing my daughter's needs (financially)..

I've seen Courts order support and tell fathers to go and find work. I've seen Courts order small amounts of support.
And, yes, what the father does not pay is yours to pay. You wouldn't be ordered 50/50. He would be ordered to pay a dollar amount and the expectation is that you will pay the rest.
