I've had my pavilion dv6000 for over a year and today, Windows xp won't start up... I start the computer and then get a blank screen after the HP logo goes away... no clue what to do.

See if you can get into safe mode and run system restore to an earlir date when this was not happening

Boot into safe mode by "tapping" the F8 key when computer is starting, you should come up to a option boot menu, choose safe mode -
