    CARRIER Non-Prog Therm Change-Out
Trying to replace CARRIER TSATCCNHP01-B thermostat (Carrier Model 38YRA system) with off the shelf programmable thermostat. Tried using Hunter Mdl 44360 but too many wires in Carrier (6-wire) to Hunter (5-wire). Need guidance on whether Hunter mdl 44360 can actually be used and wiring config or compatible programmable thermostats:

    Carrier Thermostat Wire Config:
    O/W2 - Orange Wire

    R - Red Wire
    Y/Y2 - Yellow Wire
    G - Green Wire
    C - Black Wire
    W/W1 - White wire

Buy a good quality thermostat. Hunter is JUNK to start with.

White Rodgers and Honeywell are the gold standard on thermostats.

Looks like you need a heat pump thermostat.

Here is a diagram of Carrier thermostats for reference.
