Repo motorcycle want to obtain title.
I have been storing a repo motorcycle and I have had some mechanical work done on it.
I live in Oregon and the bike has Washington plates. The bike has been in repo for about 7 years. How can I get the title? The bike belongs to my sister. I went to DMV and I have a form but not sure exactly what they want. Is there any other way to obtain title?

Who is the titled owner? Your sister? I'm a little confused here. It's repoed by someone but you have it?

The only way to obtain clear title is through the DMV, if that is your question. DMV would have a paperwork trail which they need to follow to give you title.

Thank you for your reply... I apologize if I didn't make myself clear.
My sister had the motorcycle and it was repossessed, the bank did
Not take it back they said keep it but you will not get the title.
She has had it for 10 years. She didn't have a place to keep it any longer and ask me
To store it for her. She owed me money so she said just keep the bike,
And get a possessory storage lien. I have the form but the DMV keeps
Telling me I need more proof than my word that I have stored the bike and that I had mechanical work done on it. I have ask them what exactly I need besides the form and they told me they cannot advise me on that. I feel like I am in a catch 22.

Well, that's the goofiest thing I've ever heard. Your sister default and it was "technically" repossessed. She got to keep it and they got to keep the title. Never heard of anything like this but I do believe you. Stranger things have happened - but this is a classic.

My thought would be that DMV wants Affidavits from the person who did the mechanical work as well as Affidavits that the bike has been in storage -

I always love it when DMV doesn't answer questions - that usually means they don't know.

Have you tried the title clerk at a dealership? He/she might know.

I think I'd do an Affidavit along the lines of "so and so, being duly sworn, deposes and says that so and so is acquainted with you, that so and so has personal knowledge through visual inspection that the motorcycle has been stored in your garage and so and so has seen the motorcycle in that garage on numerous occasions between x and x." It doesn't say much about much but I have no idea what they (DMV) want.

Well, this is not really an answer, but I am in the same situation with two bies right now, althouth the original owners can still have them registered an stuff, there is just no title, I operate then under a specific power of attorney from them that states that I have full authorization to title service insure and operate these motorcycles in my name, I have had one sice 2002 it had 44 miles on it when they repossesd the tile but did not want the bike, the oter I got this past feb, so if you find out exactly what we need to get atitle please let me know, what I have been searching for is a salvage motorcycle same year make and model with title and registering it like that

I also have a bike repoed that bank didn't want but they kept title. I have been searching for ways to get titled but have found nothing but have heard of possession lien, mechanic lien, storage lien, the best I have heard of is The( Lien queen) from eugene she tells you what to do I just haven't tried it yet if you try let me know how things go, she said it takes awhile but it will come through.
